What’s On The Other Side❓

It can be scary when we don’t know what is on the other side
Even though we know we cannot remain where we are
Something has to change
But
How on earth do we let go of what has been our safety zone for so many years

Binge eating for comfort
Drinking to anaesthetise
Drugging to get higher than your situation
Drugging to get underneath the situation
Smoking to put up a smokescreen between you and your life
Holding on so tightly in fear of losing control that you drive yourself crazy
– this can manifest in various ways, not only addiction to substances, such as the need to control relationships / food intake / personal security

We ‘try’ to control in a world where we feel so totally out of control
So how do we let go
And what is on the other side

Freedom is on the other side
Freedom from everything that you are running away from

So you have two options
Continue trying to escape via the substance or behaviour that is getting you tied up in knots
Or
Let go entirely

And it sounds so easy
‘Just let go’
But it is not
It’s like being asked to jump off a tall building and free fall to the ground
You don’t have wings
So you must  T R U S T  a process that you have no/little experience with
Which is why you need this permission slip
Why you must surround yourself with people who are already doing this; people who have jumped and landed in total safety, and are there to hold your hand through the process

After all we become like the five people we spend the most time with
So who are you hanging out with
Who’s words are you allowing to enter your mind
Who is influencing you
Who is guiding you
Who are you following

And we ALL have to learn this
As we awaken from the slumber of societal conditioning
Firstly our parents then family, school friends, peers, colleagues, communities etc all taught us what is the ‘correct’ way to live in this world
At some point we realise we have a choice
We don’t actually have to continue as our peers act, speak, think, believe

We have our own voice
We have our own truth
Can you hear yours?

The best leap of trust I made two years ago was to get out of my old life / job. Leap of faith but when I believe and trust the quantum things seem so easy x
