What Does It Take To Live The Dream 🏰

Daily Motivation 310

What in fact does living the dream look like?
I know I live MY dream
And at least one guest every week says:

“Wow Jo you’re living the dream”
And yes I do, but it doesn’t just ‘happen’; there is A LOT of work and commitment that goes into this business. I remember someone who I’ve been friends with on social media for a long time came on retreat, and said to me half way through,

“I had this idea that you wafted through the house in a kaftan, having naps and chilling out all day”
I’d like to share with you the facts which are very far from that!
What does a day in my life really look like?
I want to show you exactly…

A Day In The Life Of Living The Dream:

5.45am: Alarm goes off
6:00am: Make tea  and every other day (or thereabouts) have a nibble of cacao
6.15am: Sit in the studio and write this blog
7.45am: Alarm goes off
8.00am: Meditate
9.00am: If guests are in we have classes, if not then I do my own personal yoga practice here
10.30am: Breakfast and check social media
11.30am: Shower
12noon: Into the office: emails, newsletters, writing blogs for other publications, 2 websites to maintain, phone calls, recording meditations, projects
5pm: Classes if we have a retreat in, if not I stay in the office
6.30pm: Dinner with guests (later if no guests)
8pm: Free time
10pm: Bed

I love my work
And I know I couldn’t keep this schedule up if I didn’t enjoy what I did
(I can also identify what I need to work on; time for me.)
There is A LOT of commitment and responsibility
And it is the big C (commitment) that provides the container for all of this to happen. For if I woke up tired and uninspired one morning and couldn’t be bothered to get out of bed to teach meditation and serve breakfast, what would happen?!

Likewise,

If I won the lottery and suddenly had multiple millions in the bank, I wouldn’t change anything because I am right in the middle of my passion. It doesn’t feel like ‘work’ even though it’s happening from 6am to 8pm every single day of the week.

My point to share all of this with you is to ask two questions:

  1. What is your passion?
  2. Are you committed to it?

These are million dollar questions and ones you should be willing to ponder.
If you are drinking every night, or stuffing your emotions down with food you are not going to be clear about where you want to go in life and how to make that happen. It will all be a lot easier if you are a clear channel and I KNOW that I couldn’t live my dream if I was still drinking (or eating crap).

And this goes back to my belief that addicts are the leaders, the forerunners, the ones with strength and stamina. We don’t do things by halves, and know how to do something until its death; we often watch drinkers and want to say to them,

“You are not doing it properly”

Because we know how to
We are experts in our field (whatever the substance / behaviour is)
And we can TRANSFER that ability to other areas of our lives, and become experts in something far healthier.
And what makes someone an expert?
BELIEF and COMMITMENT

So I ask you again:

  1. What is your passion?
  2. Are you committed to it?
Because you are not going to move further forward until you can answer.
And let me know your answer, I really would love to know….

Member Quote Of The Day:

In this section you will read something that has been said by one of the Quantum Sobriety Online Programme members over on the very lively private forum:

❝Thank  you Jo for birthing QS and creating a safe secure place for everyone to discover themselves, find the courage to speak their truth and embrace self-love.  Meditation has changed my life in such an unexpected, positive and empowering way. After 25 years of struggle, QS has shown me there is a way to freedom from addiction. You truly are an Earth Angel.
Thank you.❞
